But what does it mean to be baptized? It seems everyone has their own opinion. How should it be done? Some want full immersion, some want to sprinkle, others come up with their own ideas. It has a long history, but it is pretty much all public symbolism, and if you want to understand the whole of it, research its origins in the Jewish Mikvah ceremony.
God is Spirit, and we are to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. It is by receiving Christ that we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Every believer is thus baptized, and that is all that is necessary for your salvation.
