No matter how it is tried to be excused as veneration, it is the adoration of an idol. She/it is dressed in gold and precious stones. Worshippers kneel to her, give her presents, petitions and prayers.
Even the popes kiss her feet and hands. She is paraded through the streets.
Mary bore the Christ child, and fulfilled her role.
