Do not take His Name in vain.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
It is often thought that this is about saying “Oh my God!” or something similarly vocal. Also as if you took an oath in court – “so help me God” – to tell the truth.
But this is more about living a hypocritical life – to say that you are a believer in God, but living a totally different lifestyle.
Once you stand on the side of the Truth, you must be careful that your actions match your beliefs in every situation.
If you are a revolutionary, don’t be seen as a hypocrite.
