Honour your Father & Mother
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
This is the commandment with a promise. No matter what situation you find yourself in with your own parents, it is critical that you never lose your respect for them.
It should be no burden to give them acknowledgement, for they gave you life on this earth.
Common sense would lead that those that do their basic duty to their parents would most likely be those that benefit from that which their parents would accumulate and leave to them.
Most importantly, those that support their parents may find an example of the knowledge of God and the Truth.
Respect your parents, no matter what.
