Do not Kill.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
This one seems pretty straightforward – not killing anyone. But there is more to it that meets the eye. The word “Kill” in its original language is usually translated to “Murder”
Jesus clarified that all malice and hate to another person is forbidden, saying “he that hateth his brother is a murderer”. So to even think evil, hurt, revenge, or such passion towards another person is not far from the actual act.
This commandment does not forbid killing in war, or in your own necessary defence. It certainly does not stop a decree from a judge or magistrate from putting an offender to death, since it is an ultimate penalty for the ultimate crime – murder.
